007 Challenger Challenge

007 Front Firing Guns Mod for 007 Challenger Challenge

This project is to custom build front “firing” guns from the headlights like the Aston Martin DB-5 from Goldfinger and Skyfall. Since I don't want to put anything that will really fire, I wanted to emulate the DB5 I saw at the International Spy Museum in D.C. These are high powered LED's synced up with robotics and audio effects.

Here is a look at the Mods I have done so Far

Concept: pull the trigger on the gun shifter (momentary switch) airsoft BB gun p99 Walther

which will trigger the 2 Heavy Duty Servo Motors that go out 6"
barrel

that will have gun barrel shrouds mounted to them.

They will push the front fog lights down which will be mounted on a spring latch.

Challenger Fog Light

Inside the Gun barrel shroud will be Orange Bright LED’s.  The LED’s will be hooked up to a sound activated module that pulses the lights in sync with sounds.

sound

My original design was all based on cutting the ground, but that left me with the problem of the guns being stuck open, so I had to go back to drawing board and that is why I headed down the dark Arduino Rabbit Hole :)

So now the sound will come from a mp3 Trigger Shield that will play 1 machine gun track on a repeat loop till the switch is released. The sound will play through waterproof speakers mounted inside the front grill. (

Once the trigger is released the sound will stop and the guns will reverse back to original position.

Arduino Parts

Parts So far for the Arduino components.

  1. a 12v to 5v power regulator so that the power from the car battery is cleaned up and a consistent 5v
  2. Arduino Mega 2560 (I’m hoping to use this as the brain to control everything. I need one digital channel out to go to led sound activated module that all the LED’s are plugged in to. This device just needs constant power going to it while the trigger is activated. This device runs on 12v and so do the LED’s that I’m using which are day time driving running lights.)
  3. Mp3 Trigger Shield
  4. 4 channel mini amp to boost the sound coming out of the mp3 shield then to speakers.
  5. Redbearlab Bluetooth shield (I want to be able to “trigger” everything either while in the car using the trigger on the gun or if I’m standing outside the car at a car show I want to be able to use the BLE Arduino software to “trigger” everything.
  6. Motor Shield to run the 2 servo motors
